Pilates is a physical and mental exercise system developed in the early 20th century by Joseph Pilates.
It uses proper body mechanics, movements, trunkal and pelvic stabilization, and coordinated breathing to promote overall strengthening. Pilates is performed on the mat or with apparatus.
Pilates uses equipment such as on the reformer and other apparatus which focuses on alignment, strength, flexibility, and core conditioning. Included are exercises to strengthen your feet, legs, core, and arms, as well as to help correct ankle, knee, hip, shoulder, and head alignment. Jumpboard + cross bow, cardio tramp, and triangle will be incorporated depending on your needs.
A private session will be tailored to meet your specific needs. This is for those wanting a one on one session in order to pay more attention to detail, or work with an injury. This can also prepare you for group classes if you have never practiced pilates before. Mat, barrel, chair, cadillac, and reformer exercises will be used to help you reach your specific goals and to become more familiar with the exercises.
